Jack Straw Alumni Reading Series

I was honored to read from American Grubble as part of a group reading last week with the Jack Straw Alumni Series. I was first in the line up (starting about 4 minutes in) and I was inspired by sharing work alongside Sharon Hashimoto, Ann Hersey, Raul Sanchez, Carletta Carrington Wilson, and Deborah Woodard. Our dedicated and passionate wrangler Kathleen Flenniken had to miss the event due to Covid, but we had a wonderful audience and Deborah stepped in and did a beautiful job as emcee. It was an evening that made me feel connected across many years to my fellow poets and reaffirmed in the power of still finding ways to make poems.
